Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Site-based
Salary: £36,176 to £41,953 (depending on experience)
Position: Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse (6-12 months post-registration experience required)
Please note: This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.

As a vital member of our team, you will work on the low secure forensic ward, engaging in rotational shifts over a two-week period:

  • Day Shift: 8am - 8:15pm
  • Night Shift: 8pm - 8:15am

Your schedule will look like this:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday

Due to our location, having access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended. However, we are also conveniently accessible via:

  • Local bus/train station
  • Ayr town centre (3 miles away)

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Low Secure Forensic Ward team. Your contributions will directly impact patient recovery by:

  • Supporting the assessment and delivery of personalized treatment plans
  • Ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care for all patients

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in Mental Health or Learning Disability
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development
  • A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality
