Join Our Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist!

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the field of mental health? Priory Hospital Preston is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dedicated team in our specialized eating disorders unit. This part-time role involves working 22.5 hours per week with a pro-rata salary of £108,528.

Located in Bartle, near Preston, our mental health hospital provides essential services for adults facing acute mental health challenges and eating disorders across four wards. With easy access to public transport and the M55 motorway, getting to work is a breeze!

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in patient recovery by:

  • Providing clinical leadership and taking overall responsibility for patient care.
  • Leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and therapeutic planning.
  • Acting as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Overseeing referrals, admissions, and contributing to pre-admission assessments.
  • Offering specialist psychiatric expertise for multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.

What You Bring to the Table

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification) and a CCT (or equivalent).
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the specialty.
  • A commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
