Located in beautiful East Yorkshire, we are a level 2 rehabilitation hospital for adult males, providing tailored therapeutic programs that focus on personal development, community integration, and essential living skills.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a chef at Priory Hospital Market Weighton, you will be an integral part of our compassionate team. While you won’t be providing direct care, your culinary skills will contribute significantly to the wellbeing of our patients. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Planning, preparing, and cooking meals, accommodating special requests and dietary needs.
- Ensuring compliance with our Food Safety policies and statutory regulations.
- Taking full responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Managing stock control efficiently, including ordering food products and checking deliveries.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Catering (or equivalent) and a Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
- Experience in preparing high-quality meals for large groups.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A passion for delivering exceptional food and customer service.
Beneficial Experience:
- Catering experience in healthcare or care home settings.
- Knowledge of specialist diets, including dysphagia and allergens.
- Experience in stock ordering and food cost control.
- Supervisory experience in a kitchen environment.
- Menu planning and creating nutritious meals that cater to dietary and cultural needs.
