What You’ll Be Doing
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your primary goal will be to deliver exceptional clinical care to our patients. You will ensure they receive compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to their unique needs. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide holistic, person-centered care that fosters recovery and promotes positive long-term outcomes.
- Take clinical responsibility for a defined patient caseload.
- Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, conduct risk assessments, and develop strategic care plans.
- Create a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
- Serve as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, ensuring the highest standards of care and governance.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Essential Qualifications:
- MRCPsych (or equivalent), CCT (or equivalent), and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
Key Skills:
- A collaborative and proactive team player committed to multidisciplinary working.
- Experience in inpatient mental health services, caring for individuals with complex and severe mental health needs.
- Proven ability to provide clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and risk management skills.
