About Us
Located in Bartle, near Preston, Priory Hospital is a mental health facility that provides services for adults with acute mental health needs and eating disorders across four wards. Our hospital is easily accessible via public transport, with local bus routes and Preston railway station nearby, as well as convenient access to the M55 motorway.
Your Role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:
- Be an integral part of a compassionate team focused on patient wellbeing.
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk reviews.
- Fulfill the role of Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Supervise the referral and admission process, contributing to pre-admission assessments.
- Provide a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team for assessment, formulation, and treatment.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a strong team player who is:
- Enthusiastic about a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and management planning.
- Holds MRCPsych (or equivalent), a CCT (or equivalent), and is on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge and experience relevant to the specialty.
- Committed to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement.
- Equipped with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients.

Working Conditions
This is a part-time position, requiring 22.5 hours per week, and is site-based. Please note that shortlisting may begin upon receipt of applications, and the vacancy may close early if suitable candidates are identified.
