Your Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients, ensuring they receive compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, person-centred care that promotes recovery and well-being.
  • Take clinical responsibility for a defined patient caseload, leading key aspects of care delivery, including:
    • Multidisciplinary ward rounds
    • Risk assessments and reviews
    • Strategic care planning
    • Creating a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment
  • Serve as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, ensuring the highest standards of care and legal compliance.

What You Bring

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Essential Qualifications: MRCPsych (or equivalent), CCT (or equivalent), GMC Specialist Register inclusion, Section 12(2) approval, and Approved Clinician status.
  • A collaborative spirit and a proactive approach to multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Demonstrable experience in inpatient mental health services, particularly with complex and severe mental health needs.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills, supporting high-quality, recovery-focused care.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and risk management abilities.
