Position: Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse
Type: Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Site-based
Salary: £36,176 to £41,953 (depending on experience) + £5,000 welcome bonus
Experience: 6-12 months post-registration experience required
Please note: This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.

As a vital member of our team, you will work on the low secure forensic ward, engaging in rotational shifts over a two-week period:

  • Day Shift: 8am - 8:15pm
  • Night Shift: 8pm - 8:15am

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday

Due to our location, having access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended, although public transport options are available:

  • Local bus/train station
  • Ayr town centre located 3 miles away

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this rewarding position, you will:

  • Support patient recovery by assessing and delivering tailored treatment plans.
  • Ensure dignity, respect, and high standards of care for all patients.

What You Bring to the Table

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in Mental Health or Learning Disability.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices.
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality.
