Salary: £18,932.16 per annum
Hours: Part Time – 24 hours per week

Located in beautiful East Yorkshire, our level 2 rehabilitation hospital focuses on providing tailored therapeutic programs for adult males, helping them develop essential life skills and confidence.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a chef, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for our patients. While you won't be providing direct care, your culinary skills will contribute significantly to their overall well-being. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Planning, preparing, and cooking meals, accommodating special requests and dietary needs.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety policies and regulations.
- Taking full responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Managing stock efficiently, including ordering food products and checking deliveries.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Catering (or equivalent) and a Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
- Ability to prepare high-quality meals for large groups.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A passion for delivering exceptional food and customer service.
Desirable Experience:
- Catering experience in healthcare or care home settings.
- Knowledge of specialist diets, including dysphagia and allergens.
- Experience in stock ordering and food cost control.
- Supervisory experience in a kitchen environment.
- Menu planning skills to create nutritious and culturally diverse meals.
