Location: Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth

Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major water infrastructure upgrade project! As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support and deputize for the Commercial Manager, leading the day-to-day commercial management of key packages. Your expertise will ensure robust cost control, effective supply chain management, and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the commercial and financial aspects of allocated works packages, ensuring adherence to contract terms and internal governance.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analyses with accurate and timely reporting.
  • Lead change management processes, including valuation, justification, and agreement of variations.
  • Oversee procurement and administration of subcontract packages from tender enquiry through to final account settlement.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs, reviewing their outputs and supporting their development.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Have proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a strong Quantity Surveyor on major civil engineering, process, or water infrastructure projects.
  • Possess a strong understanding of contract management and change control.
  • Can demonstrate experience managing subcontract packages through the full commercial lifecycle.
  • Are highly competent in CVRs, cost forecasting, financial reporting, and commercial governance.
  • Have excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior commercial staff.
