Role Purpose
As a Receptionist/Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the administration services at Cumnor House Schools. Your mission will be to deliver practical and effective solutions for day-to-day operations at the front desk and beyond. You’ll also provide essential support to the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration across the admin team.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all visitors and contractors with professionalism, ensuring security and safety procedures are followed.
- Manage parental inquiries and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Handle telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally.
- Record and maintain attendance registers using the school’s Management Information System.
- Assist pupils at the reception area during key times, including early morning transport shuttles.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance procedures and processes.
- Support the Admin Team with general administration of wraparound care and school bus services.
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and other staff as needed.
- Act as the first point of contact for parents using the Parent Portal (Blenheim Connect).
- Coordinate transport bookings for trips and visits.
- Work with the admissions team to ensure accurate processing of new student data.
- Assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead with administrative tasks as required.
- Cover for absent administration colleagues, including travel to other Cumnor sites as needed.
What You’ll Bring
- GCSE or equivalent Grade C in English & Maths (minimum).
- A proactive and positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong administration and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Significant experience in an administrative role within a busy office or educational setting.
- Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Confident and friendly demeanor with a strong awareness of customer care.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Reliable and flexible, willing to cover any school site as needed.
- Initiative and attention to time-critical duties.
Desirable Qualifications
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience in a busy school environment or relevant experience in children’s settings.
