Position: Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse

Type: Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Site-based

Salary: £36,176 to £41,953 (depending on experience)

Experience: 6-12 months post-registration experience required. (This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.)

Your Role

As a vital member of our team on the Low Secure Forensic Ward, you will:

  • Support patient recovery through tailored treatment plans.
  • Ensure dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
  • Work rotational shifts over a two-week period:
    • Day Shift: 8am - 8:15pm
    • Night Shift: 8pm - 8:15am
  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday

Location & Accessibility

Due to the location of our service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended. However, we are also conveniently accessible via:

  • Local bus/train station
  • Ayr town centre (3 miles away)

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in Mental Health or Learning Disability.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices.
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality.
