We’re excited to announce an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Thames Water Framework team at Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth. This is your chance to be part of a transformative project!

Location & Hours

Location: Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth – Enjoy the flexibility of remote working, with a requirement to be on-site at least 3 days a week.

Hours: Full-time – We offer some flexibility on hours, just let us know your preferences when we chat!

Your Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a vital role in our collaborative Thames Water team, contributing to the exciting £200m+ Maple Lodge STW upgrade. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills on a major water infrastructure project while making a positive impact on local communities. You’ll support our commercial team, where your expertise and potential will be valued, with clear pathways for progression towards a Senior QS role.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support cost control and financial reporting, including preparing cost reports, measuring works, and assisting with monthly valuations.
  • Manage subcontract activities from enquiry through to payment, ensuring accurate records and supporting tender analysis.
  • Assist with change management by identifying, recording, and valuing variations with appropriate documentation.
  • Contribute to commercial reporting and maintain organized records in line with governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and planning teams to ensure accurate information gathering and successful package delivery.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Have experience as an Assistant QS or QS in civil engineering, utilities, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Possess strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Have some experience in subcontract procurement, valuations, and cost reporting.
  • Understand construction contract principles and are proficient in MS Excel and commercial tools.
  • Have strong communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively with diverse teams.
