We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Team Leader to join our established children’s home in Langford, Bristol. About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will ensure that young people receive a safe, positive, and nurturing living experience. Your leadership will guide the Residential Support Worker team in delivering high-quality care. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Work shifts to ensure the home runs safely, smoothly, and in line with safeguarding expectations.
• Lead and supervise Residential Support Workers, promoting best practices and acting as a positive role model.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, legislation, and the home’s Statement of Purpose, guiding staff in their application.
• Build strong, professional relationships with multi-agency partners, families, and the wider community.
• Support care planning, young people’s reviews, and progress against individual plans.
• Encourage young people to participate in decision-making within the home and the community.
• Promote equality and anti-discriminatory practices while upholding health and safety and data protection requirements.
• Attend required training and support learners working towards relevant qualifications.

Essential Skills

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following:

• A good standard of education and be working towards, or hold, a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent.
• A strong understanding of childcare legislation, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
• Experience supporting young people who may display challenging behaviors.
• Confidence in report writing, numeracy, general administration, and IT.
• The ability to build positive, empathetic relationships with young people, committed to achieving the best outcomes.
• A motivational and supportive leadership style, with the ability to supervise and develop staff.
• Knowledge of national and local safeguarding procedures and protocols.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 38 hours per week. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
