Experience Trade Plate/Vehicle Delivery Driver

Summary

MSL Logistics are currently seeking additional Professional Trade Plate/Vehicle Delivery drivers to complement their existing team.

Candidates need to be resourceful, professional at all times in appearance and conduct, able to plan their day effectively and be prepared for early morning starts. Early starts are essential to carry out this role effectively. Drivers will be required to be at their first delivery at the earliest opportunity each morning, circa 08.00am. Please consider before applying that we carry out vehicle movements on behalf of many manufacturers and companies to locations throughout mainland UK.

The role will consist of successful candidates driving new, nearly new and prestigious vehicles - in many cases collecting from the dealership and delivering directly to the customer, where the will be required to carry out a handover of the vehicle and explain the controls and safety features. Due to the prestigious nature of the vehicles, customers will expect a high level of customer service when receiving their vehicle and the driver is, on many occasions, the only contact they have with an individual throughout the entire process. Therefore the driver is representing all companies involved.

Drivers must be professional and have experience working within a Customer Facing environment. Customer service, communication and professionalism are all highly important. Previous Vehicle Delivery/Trade Plate experience is desirable.

At all times drivers must be smart in appearance wearing shirt, tie, trousers and appropriate footwear. We do not accept trainers, jeans etc. A full corporate uniform will be supplied after an initial period.

Drivers will be completing approximately 2-3 movements per day with a carry-over vehicle wherever possible. Successful applicants will commence movements on their first day after an induction where full training will be given. They will collect their first vehicle under supervision, then deliver it to it's destination then, make their way on public transport to collect their next vehicle. A drivers' last vehicle of the day will, 95% of the time, be their carry-over vehicle that will stay at the drivers address as per SORN - so a driveway/off street parking is required. The driver will, then plan their next day as early as possible to deliver the vehicle and then move on to their next collection. Drivers are contacted each afternoon to talk through their next days workload and all jobs are sent electronically to a tablet that we supply. We always plan that our drivers return to their home location every evening.

Drivers are expected to travel between each job using public transport - not hitch-hike - and will be provided with a tablet to complete vehicle appraisals (check for damage) whenever collecting or delivering a vehicle. Training will be provided for this element of the role. The tablet provided to the driver will also have pre-loaded applications that can be used to effectively and efficiently plan the best route and most cost effective means of travelling between jobs.

Drivers are reimbursed for ALL travel costs incurred on submission of the original valid receipts.

Drivers must have:

A Full UK Driving Licence and a minimum of 5 years driving experience.

Have a good knowledge of the UK road network.

Have a suitable Sat Nav and mobile phone with access to e-mails.

Be articulate and able to communicate efficiently.

Ideally drivers will have no more than 3 points on their driving licence for minor offences and not been banned in the past 5 years. No CD, IN, DR, DD, TT99 endorsements.

30 years of age or over to meet Insurance Requirements.

We expect our drivers to operate safely, ensuring that they drive legally and in line with current legislation.
