Location: HMP Glasgow - FOH, Glasgow

Hours: 45 hours per week (some flexibility available—just let us know during our conversation!)

About the Project

Kier Construction has been appointed to deliver a groundbreaking project: HMP Glasgow. This state-of-the-art facility will replace the ageing Barlinnie prison, providing a safe, secure, and energy-efficient environment for 2,000 inmates and staff. With a budget of £750 million, this project is set to redefine custodial facilities in Scotland, utilizing cutting-edge Modern Methods of Construction.

Your Role

As a Senior Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of a major building on campus—a two-storey, steel frame structure valued at over £45 million. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and directing subcontractor partners to safely deliver work packages, including groundworks, drainage, structural frame erection, roofing, cladding, and interior fit-out.
• Ensuring quality is maintained to Kier standards through effective supervision of subcontractors and Kier staff on site.
• Coordinating site logistics, including the movement of plant and labor, while maintaining safety protocols.
• Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements from subcontractors to ensure safe working methods.
• Creating, logging, and filing site reports and paperwork accurately and promptly.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

• You have prior experience in a management role within a large construction environment with a main contractor.
• You possess a strong technical understanding of building construction and can provide practical solutions to emerging challenges.
• You have excellent communication skills and can collaborate effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
• You are genuinely focused on health and safety and have the confidence to ensure protocols are followed.
• You hold relevant construction qualifications (HND/Degree/SVQ or Technical Trade), SMSTS 5 Day Certification, CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate, and a Full driving license.
