Are you ready to take your architectural career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Architect to join our dynamic Architectural team based in the vibrant city of Liverpool.

About the Role

This is not just any role; it’s a key leadership position within Kier Design’s growing Architecture team. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across a diverse portfolio. From concept to completion, you’ll ensure high-quality design, commercial performance, and successful delivery on site.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and coordinate design teams to produce high-quality, fully integrated design solutions.
• Deliver projects on site, ensuring compliance with cost, programme, and quality expectations.
• Oversee design, procurement, contract administration, and site delivery across multiple projects.
• Provide direction, QA oversight, and audit support across all stages of design and construction.
• Champion Architecture within the business and expand service offerings to internal and external clients.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Architect, you’ll support the delivery of schemes within the Kier Design team, including:

• Leading delivery of complex architectural projects across all RIBA stages.
• Owning commercial performance, including budget, programme, and resourcing.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Planning and managing team resources in line with project workload forecasts.
• Overseeing concept and detailed design production, including presentations.
• Administering contracts (JCT/NEC) and supporting delivery through to site.
• Driving bids, feasibility studies, and planning applications to win work.
• Supporting, mentoring, and leading architects across the team.
• Building client relationships, generating new opportunities, and promoting Kier Design.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

• Possess excellent architectural design capability with strong technical detailing.
• Have proven experience leading and managing design teams.
• Bring strong knowledge of regulations, procurement, and project delivery.
• Have experience across contract administration, site delivery, and project management.
• Show advanced BIM capability using Revit / Autodesk.
• Demonstrate experience across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work.

Working Conditions

Location: Liverpool
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired.
Salary: Starting from £40,000 per annum
