At Fostering People, we are on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our friendly and dynamic team. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering 21 hours per week over 3 days, with a competitive salary of up to £24,930.29 per annum (£41,550.49 FTE).

About Us

Since our establishment in 2000, Fostering People has built a stellar reputation for providing exceptional support to children, Foster Parents, and our dedicated staff. • Work primarily across Derby and Derbyshire, with some opportunities in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

One of our long-serving, now-retired Supervising Social Workers shared:

“Fostering People is a fantastic company to work for where you really feel as though you can make a difference to children’s lives. You will feel well supported by your line manager and senior management in a very open and inclusive environment.”

  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with team members and Foster Parents.
  • Demonstrate excellent assessment skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Utilize good IT skills to produce high-quality reports.
  • Hold a qualification as a Social Worker with current HCPC registration.
  • Possess recent experience in fostering and services for children (though less experienced candidates are welcome to apply).
  • Have a solid understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and safeguarding.
  • Bring a shared creative vision and drive, whether you’re new to fostering or an experienced professional.

This part-time, home-based position comes with:

  • A highly attractive salary of up to £24,930.29 per annum (£41,550.49 FTE), depending on experience.
  • A £1,000 car allowance, pro rata.
