Position: Participation Officer (Children & Families - Fostering)

Location:

As our new Participation Officer, you'll regularly travel to our regional office in Sheffield and throughout the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, East Midlands, and Northampton regions. Enjoy the flexibility of occasional remote work when applicable!

Salary:

£23,542.56 per annum

Your Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about working with children and making a positive impact in their lives. As part of a small team, you will help deliver our Participation Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize engaging activities and workshops for children in our care and those who foster.
  • Plan memorable family events and outings.
  • Build strong relationships with regional colleagues, foster parents, and external professionals.
  • Attend meetings with professionals from education, health, and social services to support our children’s care plans.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records.
  • Stay updated on professional standards, legislation, and company policies, including confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Provide guidance to families to promote stable foster placements.

About You:

  • You have experience working with children and young people, advocating for their voices to be heard.
  • Understanding trauma and helping children achieve positive outcomes is a plus.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare, education, social work, or psychology is ideal.
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport with children and adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • You remain calm under pressure and can handle emotionally challenging situations.
  • Good written skills and intermediate IT proficiency (Microsoft Office and databases).
  • A full driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential.
  • You are willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
